3/31/2024 0 Comments Free attack on titan online gamesEven after more than 15 hours of play I was still having a great time with the combat. It took some practice, but once I got it down I felt like an unstoppable force. Lining up the shot with the left stick, then releasing to reel yourself in at high speeds feels like loading a slingshot, and timing your sword slash just right in order to deal maximum damage is a satisfying feeling when you nail it. After you’ve locked onto a Titan you’re able to select individual arms or legs to strike to disable the disturbingly naked giant beast, or you could go straight for the kill by targeting the neck. Omega Force did an incredible job of adapting the battles from the manga and anime into video game form in the last game, and this time around it feels even better, with faster and more fluid movement that feels like a cross between Spider-Man and the Prototype games. Fortunately, killing Titans is lots of fun, even if the frame rate occasionally takes some significant hits on a stock PS4 when things start to get a little hectic. “It all feels like fluff and gets in the way of the fun stuff, which is killing Titans. (There’s also another mode, literally called “Another Mode,” where can you actually choose a character from the show and complete missions removed from the context of the story.) The side stories you unlock by leveling up your friendships are all dull, too. That’s thanks to a shoehorned “Friendship Level” system that rewards you by unlocking skills for your character. At one point a character was being full of themselves and bragging about how amazing they are and ask you what you think, you’re punished if you don’t flatter them. You’re given a choice of how to respond to other characters, but there’s no consistency in the dialogue options and you’re encouraged to choose the obviously “correct” choice, even if it’s out of character for how you’ve been playing thus far. This could’ve been fine if your character had any sort of personality to speak of, but the role you play is disappointingly bland and uninteresting. One of the differences this time around is that the story is framed through the perspective of a player-created character who’s been written in as an inconsequential trainee who befriends the main cast. If you’re new to the Attack on Titan universe, though, and would rather play it than read it or watch it, Attack on Titan 2 is a pretty solid place to jump in. To be fair, those re-used cutscenes still do a fantastic job of telling the story, having been painstakingly crafted to mirror the anime’s most pivotal moments. There’s a lot of protecting points of interests from Titan attacks, escorting VIPs from point A to point B, saving comrades who are about to be eaten, and so on. “All of the missions – the new and the old – are pretty standard fare. That means that if you played the 2016 game, prepare for about 10 hours of retreading very familiar missions, boss fights, and some of the exact same cutscenes. Trailers for Attack on Titan 2 might have you believe that it picks up where the first game left off and primarily covers the events of season two of the Attack on Titan anime, but the reality is the story mode is about 80% a retelling of season one, and 20% season two. But the sharp edge of this sequel is dulled a bit by an all too familiar story mode hamstrung by plodding pacing. Attack on Titan 2 builds upon that foundation with a much-improved interface and some cool new tricks to slice the napes of a Titan in fun and extravagant ways. With its first Attack on Titan game in 2016, developer Omega Force laid down a rough but promising groundwork for what a game based around the anime phenomenon should be: fast-paced and thrilling aerial battles against gargantuan Titans with a unique control scheme that allows you to zip around effortlessly using Omni-Directional Mobility Gear. 3/31/2024 0 Comments Digicel flipbook tutorialAfter watching a couple of tutorials to get a general idea of how it works, I can see that it is potentially a good choice for me. I have downloaded a trial from the official site. My general impression of it was quite positive, it has a nice and simple interface and there's no overload of extra unnecessary tools which is what I find annoying on other software. My only gripe was that for some reason despite it being pixel rather than vector based, I find it hard to draw as well on anything that isn't Photoshop - a possibility would be to draw the frames in PS then transfer them to FlipBook to sort out the timing and colouring. There's also a tool for scanning in paper-based drawings. Can easily organise and edit timing of frames Extensive colour selection, and when you change a colour this change automatically applies to other frames Allows the addition of sound tracks, which is especially useful for lipsyncing Includes vertical timing sheet, with each row being a frame and each column being a layer Drawing allows pressure sensitivity, and you can choose between free drawing or 'smart' drawing which smooths out curves Allows you to draw with a tablet or scan/capture traditionally drawn frames Pixel-based rather than vector-based so allows a more traditional look I'm aware in a professional environment I'd be expected to adapt to new software, so I'm willing to practice getting used to it. When seeing examples of work produced in FlipBook, I noticed it tends to be very clean and flat, though I suppose that's more to do with artistic preference than the program. I would be able to add texture and other artistic effects in After Effects. Something that kept happening was a small moment of lag when I tried to draw, so at times it was very difficult to sketch roughly as it kept 'sticking'. Also, sometimes it wouldn't detect the pressure at all so I'd have to keep trying to draw the same area. I'm not sure what the cause of this would have been as it sometimes would work fine, but it definitely would be difficult to draw good sketches with this repeatedly occurring.ĭespite 2D dramatically decreasing in popularity for big budget animations, there's still a huge interest and love for the medium as evidenced by the many fantastic short films that are around the net. I've been looking at a lot of them to try and study some of the different approaches different artists have taken, and to see if I can find one that would fit my project. It is intended to closely replicate the traditional animation process, very similar to the likes of TVPaint Animation and Toon Boom Harmony.įlipBook supports scanning physical drawings with a TWAIN-compliant scanner or webcam, or direct digital input via a Wacom tablet.
